For the past couple of weeks, there has been a hive of activity in the ABC Construction Space at the Fostoria Learning Center as the students work hard to build an additional classroom space.  With more construction trades programs being added, it became clear that more space was needed for classes — so the students put their practical skills to the test and built their own space!

These students are part of the Industrial/Electrical Pre-Apprenticeship Rapid Start (IEPA) program.  This program is in partnership with ABC-Northern Ohio Chapter and WSOS.

The Industrial Pre-Apprenticeship Rapid Start program offers students industry recognized National Center for Construction Research (NCCER) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) credentials. This program is a practical fast tracked career centered training that leads to an exciting career in industrial maintenance. Hours accrued during class time and internship apply directly toward future electrical trades apprenticeship certifications.

You can see a couple more photos of the classroom build over on our Facebook page.
