A Ribbon Cutting on Wednesday, August 22, celebrated the opening of Fostoria Learning Center’s new Welding Lab.  This has been a priority project since the Learning Center opened its doors in August 2017.  The Welding Lab can accommodate up to six students at any one time, and classes are being run in partnership with Owen Community College.  Skilled Welders are in high demand in the Fostoria and surrounding area, and by offering this training at the Learning Center it will help to provide well-paying jobs for area citizens.

Said Fostoria Learning Center’s Director, Tracey Lawton,

We have had a lot of feedback from companies that need to fill jobs, they have a shortage of workers and they need to hire welders. We’ve had a couple companies approach us and say ‘When you have ran your first welding program, let us know. We might be interested in working with those students’.
