We are pleased to share with you details of our Essential Skills Workshops for the Winter 2019 semester.  This series of workshops is designed to help you navigate some of today’s challenges with ease and confidence, especially around the areas of technology and job searching. At the Fostoria Learning Center we’ve recognized this need in the community and have heard over and over again, questions such as,

Do you offer computer classes?

Can you help me with my resume?

So we thought we’d start off 2019 by offering a series of workshops to help you with in these key areas.

Technology Thursdays — this winter we’re piloting an innovative “reverse teaching” model to deliver our Technology Thursday classes.  Students from the Tech Team at Fostoria Junior/Senior High School will be teaching members of the community how to use some of today’s must-have technologies, including basic computer know-how, setting up a Gmail account, using a smartphone or tablet, creating simple documents in Microsoft Word or Google Docs, and getting to grips with popular social media sites such as Facebook and Instagram. Resume Writing Workshops — Each month we are offering a FREE workshop to teach you basic resume writing skills.  You’ll learn format, structure and style; persuasive writing techniques; and how to write a Summary Statement. Plus you’ll walk away from the workshop with your resume in hand, both in print and digital formats.  Click here for more information on Resume Writing Workshops
